MULTIDISCIPLINAR AREA
The aim of the multidisciplinary area is for students to acquire knowledge that goes beyond a specific area and to promote skills shared by all students. The idea is for students to learn how to shape their own ideas in different final forms: so they can read, touch, dress, etc. And to learn about other specialties and the points they have in common: the world of fashion is very close to industrial precision. Graphics can be found in everything, but things are three dimensional. And a contour map is still a model for building an object.
It’s this multidisciplinary approach that really makes us designers. That’s why the IED has set up a multidisciplinary area and created a series of workshops to develop the conceptual side of design through real-life practices and to bring together different people, procedures and disciplines.
