The main objective of this course is to develop the ability to interpret ideas and concepts with images through the most creative solutions for the creation of imaginative illustrations. The students will experiment with various techniques to create work with an emphasis on their personal
style.
Program
The work is based on ideas/concepts, exploring the creative process with visual metaphors through various artistic mediums. Starting with a brainstorming session and placing special emphasis on experimental rough sketches and the use of creative inventive mediums, the course closes with the digitalization of the projects that have been carried out.
The course is divided in two equally important parts:
a) The review and analysis of significant illustrations, learning to asses the theoretical and creative aspects of this artistic discipline.
b) The hands-on work. How to create illustrations beginning with the concept: the idea (text, title, slogan, opinion, article, etc.), to the sketches and to the final illustrated image.
