When is a fashion editorial necessary? Which photo is the most appropriate for the product?
Designers and fashion retailers frequently have to decide which type of image best suits their product as well as the most efficient way of producing these images without loosing the core concepts of the brand.
The Photography Production for Products and Fashion course explores different possibilities, economic and logistic necessities for the production of photographic images for advertising, editorials, catalogues, fashion shows and general press. Using a real product or collection, we will conceptualize and plan the production of different types of images.
Programme
The course combines fashion and product history with workshops on image conceptualization. The subjects will be taught in modules by professionals currently active in their filed, and the students will be put into groups for the production of the images.
Admission
This course is aimed at fashion professionals (designers, distributors, and retailers of fashion products, accessories and jewellery), those with studies in fine arts, communication, industrial and product design as well as those who wish to specialise in styling applied to the field of photography.
Course Characteristics
This course can be taken as a compliment to the Specialisation Courses in Fashion Styling. Both courses are modules of the Postgraduate course in Fashion Styling and Photography Production for Products and Fashion; students that wish to complete the postgraduate course will have to develop a project after completing both modules which applies the tools learned in both.
