IED Barcelona is located in Gràcia, a neighbourhood with strong personality and character as well as an industrial history. It occupies 1.900 m ² of a former chocolate factory. The main building consists of classrooms, workshops and labs as well as an attached auditorium open to the city to receive exhibitions and conferences of varying cultural events. The school also consists of two additional spaces totalling 300m2, which hold the Mediateca, or library and computer lab, as well as more classrooms, workshops and studio space. This is also where the IED Vetrina is located which is used to display the best projects produced by the students from all the disciplines and courses. Every year, 800 students, from Spain and around the world, come to take part and study in an international environment which facilitates cultural exchange.
